All our vacation homes are located in Marathon, Florida, an island community situated in the heart of the Florida Keys island chain. Marathon stretches for 10 miles and is comprised mainly of Vaca Key, Fat Deer Key and Grassy Key.
We chose Marathon because it is a tropical getaway for the entire family! It maintains a retro, laid-back atmosphere with family-friendly festivals and attractions. Activities include dolphin swims, snorkeling, boating, fishing, biking, beach activities, water sports, site-seeing, and even visiting sea turtles recovering in the hospital. Seafood festivals are scheduled throughout the year, and plenty of local restaurants feature fresh catches. (Our homes include information on the recommended restaurants and our property manager will be glad to assist with any and all questions!)
In addition to kid-friendly fun, adults flock to Marathon for world-class deep sea fishing, catching billfish and tuna in the winter, bridge-hugging tarpon in the spring and dolphin fish in the summer. Lobster diving is also a favorite activity in the Keys, something every sea-lover should try at least once in his or her lifetime.
While there is more than enough to do in Marathon during your vacation, it’s central location is perfect for experiencing the rest of the Florida Keys on day trips north to Key Largo or south to Key West.
